Editorial, source and corrections policy
How Pay Off Sooner selects topics, checks authoritative UK sources, tests worked examples, uses automation and corrects financial content.
People-first publication standard
Pages are created to answer a real repayment decision, not to capture every possible keyword variation. Thin tag archives and overlapping calculator-guide pages are not included in the index. Every indexable guide must contain at least 1,000 substantive body words; the current internal publication gate is 1,200 words.
Sources and financial claims
Factual claims are checked against primary or authoritative UK sources such as legislation, the Financial Conduct Authority, MoneyHelper, the Bank of England and the Information Commissioner’s Office. Named lender pages may illustrate a product rule but are never presented as applying to every lender.
Use of generative AI and automation
Software and generative AI may support research organisation, drafting, scenario generation, structure checks, similarity checks and quality assurance. Content is not published solely because an automated system produced it. Conor Dwyer reviews the purpose, cited evidence, calculations, wording, duplication risk and practical usefulness before publication.
Worked examples
Examples are deliberately labelled and use rounded or illustrative figures. They are not customer case studies unless explicitly stated. Official provider documents, current rates and personal circumstances must replace the examples before action.
Advertising independence
Advertising does not determine which topics are covered, how calculators work, which sources are cited or what conclusions are published. Google AdSense is limited to long-form guide pages. Ads are not intentionally placed beside calculator controls, lender-action buttons or download links, and advertising must remain visually distinct from editorial content.
Corrections
Corrections can be reported at hello@payoffmortgagesooner.co.uk. Material changes update the page’s dateModified value and visible checked date. Minor spelling or formatting changes do not create a false “freshness” date.
